3oC intends to become a global digital network and ecosystem fueled by our core values. A global digital trust system for people to use before they meet in person with someone they have met online. The more types of users and types of reasons, the better the ecosystem will work for everyone.

HOW IT WORKS

To sign up with 3oC you’ll need to provide some personal information. Some of this information is mandatory to participate at all. Some of it will create a more verified and trustable profile on the platform. Some of it will be completely your preference of how you represent yourself online.

3oC uses your information to make the system function. We have no partnerships or customers with whom we share insights or data. At this time, 3oC is not engaged in any advertising. Therefore, your identity in the platform is not used to create advertising algorithms for you. If this ever changes, we will communicate widely and clearly.

  • Pt II 3oC Works Best with Friends
The first thing you should do when you join 3oC is invite your friends to join too. Click the share button when you are in 3oC to receive a one-time-link to share with an individual friend. They will be asked to join, or login if they already belong to 3oC.
  • Pt IV What to do when you’re meeting IRL
Use 3oC to communicate your IRL plans with your friends who you have invited to join the system. Use the IRL tab in your 3oC dashboard to establish; where you are going and when, who you are meeting, request a check-in time, and notes of what you want your backup bud to do if needed. Remember — even if you follow these tips, no method of risk reduction is perfect. If you have a negative experience, please know that it is not your fault and help is available. If you feel you are in immediate danger or need emergency assistance, call 911 (U.S. or Canada) or your local law enforcement agency.

Phone Number This is required. It’s required because SMS is the primary way we reach you and is critical to how 3oC functions. It can be any phone number you can text from. It doesn’t require a SIM card. You can choose to have this be part of your public profile, or not. We will use it to send you a One Time Password (OTP) when you login to 3oC. Using your “real” phone number to verify yourself in the 3oC system is best and recommended. Doing so will give you a stronger verification and trust profile. You may keep this phone number private, it does not need to be included in your displayed profile. That means, if you are using a different phone number to communicate with the people who you are meeting with, that is OK. We won’t share your real number with them if you don’t want us to. If you choose to use an app generated phone number to sign up for 3oC, that is acceptable to participate in the ecosystem. But it will be considered less trustworthy verification than a registered phone number. Name A name to present yourself with on the platform. This can be your alias or real name. It’s up to you and how you prefer to present yourself! It’s probably a good idea to use the name you use online to meet new people. But that’s up to you. Soon, you will be able to present different names to different connections. This is helpful if you use a different identity or alias on one platform or another. Email Address This is not mandatory to sign up. You can use it to create more security. We may contact you from time to time by email with important information and updates. You can choose to have this part of your public profile or not. Google Login You can use your Google Account to sign in and auto-submit information to your profile. You will be required to submit additional information to proceed to engage with the ecosystem (phone number & ID verification). Government Issued ID This is very important and required to join the 3oC ecosystem. Your ID will never be shared with anyone, for any reason, unless we are legally required to do so. Your ID is verified by another company who are experts in this. It is stored completely separately. Therefore, an external person- not even a hacker- could ever link your ID to your profile on 3oC. 3oC is using the best-practice ID verification touch points and methods. This is an evolving space and we will evolve with it. For now, this is part of the process.
  • Pt V Reaching and Recording Consensus
You joined 3oC to create trust when you meet with someone new who you’ve met online. We'll have more info soon about how to wrap the process up.
  • Pt III Validating your meetups
You joined 3oC to create trust when you meet with someone new who you’ve met online. Click the share button when you are in 3oC to receive a one-time-link to share with the person who you intend to meet. Once they have been validated, they will appear with a check-mark in your CupBuds.
